My name is Marco, but on the island everyone knows me as Raizef. I was born in South Africa and have lived in Madeira since I was five, and my family roots are here, so this island is home.
Good Ground Tours grew from an idea I had while travelling around Europe. Since then our mission has been simple: to give visitors authentic experiences that feel different from the usual. And when an experience is a classic, we always add a Good Ground twist, so it stays something you will not find anywhere else.

I am an avid believer that in an increasingly technical world, one thing will never be replaced: human connection. A big laugh shared with a stranger makes one heck of a memory, and that is Good Ground for you.
If you ever find me on a tour, beware. I probably won’t shut up about cycling or my cats, and I will fight anyone who says poncha is not that good.

I am an archaeology graduate who loves the history of Madeira and of the world, and I do everything I can to fill our tours with information about the island and about the world around it.
Fair warning: talking history with me means you are not going home anytime soon, because I will not stop talking.

I am from Madeira, but here is a fun fact: I was born in the Azores. An island girl twice over.
Party is my natural habitat. On the pub crawl I am the one who builds the atmosphere, and I love turning a group of strangers into the happiest table in the bar. I am also the girl of the group, and I make sure the energy never drops.

Originally Joaquim, but you can call me JJ when I am your guide. Born and raised in Funchal, I joined Good Ground to show people from all around the world the “fun side” of Madeira.
My favourite part? Turning complete strangers into drinking buddies and giving them a night they won’t forget… or that they might not remember 🍻
